Not all students may have access to adequate refrigeration, a stove or even a can opener. The best-prepared backpacks will have food items taht children can access independently and eat with minimal preparation.

Once backpacks are distributed to the school, only school personnel with access to confidential student information will assist with distributing the backpacks to individual students.
